Pass-Plus

Pass Plus is an advanced driver training course designed by the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) to make newly qualified drivers into better drivers.

 

Pass Plus can also give drivers a number of other benefits, such as cheaper motor insurance.

 

Its main objectives are to develop the skills used in:

    • Town driving

   • Country driving    • All weathers, particularly inclement weather

   • Night driving

   • Dual carriageway driving

   • Motorway driving

 

Statistics show that the risk of having an accident is highest during the first years of driving after passing the driving test. This is why the Government introduced the Pass-Plus scheme.

 

The scheme consists of six modules, which follow on from a successful practical driving test, and will take a minimum of six hours to complete. You will have to attain, or exceed, a set standard for each module. When the required standard for a module is attained I will sign it off as as completed. When all 6 modules have been completed, the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) will issue a certificate of completion.

 

Many insurers give a discount to people who have attained a Pass Plus certificate - sometimes as much as the equivalent of one year's no claims bonus.

 

The Pass Plus course does not involve a test and makes you a better driver - it could even save you money.
